The real, authentic South African 1/2 penny "Sailing Ship" (U.S. quarter - size) 1966 - 1985 coin used in this piece was first layered in pure "Bright Silver". Then it was highlighted by hand with rich pure 24K gold. This exacting work makes the mundane coins used in our jewelry into stunning, true works of art. Each of our coins comes hermetically sealed "against wear" in a clear, hard acrylic coating, and is mounted in a gold filled "bezel" (frame).
